Job Title: Qualitative Research Associate

Position Type: Part time 50% effort (18.75 hours per week) 12-month position.

Salary:  between $23 - $25 per hour (commensurate with experience)

This is a grant-funded position, and employment is contingent upon continued funding.

General Position Description:

The NDRI-USA in Leawood, KS is currently seeking a Qualitative Research Associate (Part Time) with interest in qualitative research to join our team of researchers focused on the health outcomes, epidemiology, and prevention science, with a specific focus on military and emergency responders. The research associate will work under the guidance of PI, senior research personnel, and or project manager. This is a grant-funded position, and employment is contingent upon continued funding.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Coding and assisting with analysis of interview and textual data. Experience preferred but training will be provided.

  • Working with confidential data and maintaining confidentiality, privacy, and integrity in professional interactions;

  • Data entry and database management. Experience preferred but training will be provided;

  • Assisting with research and manuscript preparation for publication and dissemination of results, including conducting literature searches, article summaries, and basic coding and analysis;

  • Contributing to the development of study-related documents and/or materials; and

  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or current enrollment in Social Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, Education, Health Sciences or related field.

  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods and data analytic skills, or desired to develop these skills;

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications;

  • Knowledge of web-based survey (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey), statistical/analytical packages (e.g., NVivo, SPSS) a plus;

  • Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision;

  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills is desired.
